Holly Thomas
Founder & CEO
For more than 25 years, Holly Thomas has poured her heart into the world of early childhood education. With a degree in Early Childhood Education and a specialization in Leadership, she has built her career on the belief that every child deserves a place where they feel safe, loved, and inspired to grow.
As Founder & CEO of Bumble and Bloom Early Learning Center, she brings not only her professional expertise but also her personal passion for nurturing young minds. A proud mother of two, she knows firsthand the joys and challenges of raising children. Her home has always been the kind of place where friends, neighbors, and kids gather — a warm, welcoming space filled with laughter, learning, and love. That same spirit of community and belonging is what she strives to create every day at Bumble and Bloom.
Her leadership is rooted in kindness, vision, and the simple joy of seeing children discover the world around them. She believes that education is not about molding children into something predetermined, but about unfolding their unique gifts and helping them shine.
"Children are great imitators. So give them something great to imitate." – Anonymous

Kathy Heckel
Director of Human Resources
I am a married mother of two young men. My husband and I have been married for 25 years and we reside in the Indianapolis area. I joined the team at the beginning of 2025 and I have been learning and growing and enjoying work every day since. When I'm not working I enjoy scrapbooking, listening to audiobooks, catching up on the latest tv shows and movies and swimming when the weather permits. This is my first position in child care but both of my sons attended child care centers when they were younger and I feel like that gives me a different perspective on the team.
